diddley bows
- Scope note
- Single-string musical bows of the southern United States, consisting of a length of wire attached to the wall of a frame house, which acts as a resonator; a cotton reel is often used as a bridge. They are plucked with glass bottlenecks or nails. A more portable version replaces the house with a fence picket.
